Cemetery Art
Over the last decade a conscious effort has been made to integrate a variety of creative mediums into our new projects. Quality adds value and attracts community support.

The “In Memories We Live” carousel was designed by Melbourne artist, Jenny Steiner, in 2009 and is located in the A. J. A. Gardner Children’s Lawn.

Judith Holmes Drewry created the Ring-a-Ring-a-Rosie statue which is located in the A.J.A Gardner Children’s Lawn. We are indebted to the family of the late Una Linda and Ernest Richard Gardner who chose to provide a perpetual memorial to their parents in the form of a bronze sculpture, as a donation to the cemetery.

Gordon Huang created the granite dragon sculpture within the Song He Yuan water feature. He also created the Di Zhang Wang Buddha that is housed within our temple.

Anna Minardo created the Mosaic of Eternity, embellishing the ceiling within the vestibule of the Rocco Surace Mausoleum.

David Jack designed the mosaics within the gallery floors of the Luciano Rossetti mausoleum.

Ruth Lyon created two pieces of bronze artwork that are placed at each end of the Walls of Reflection. The ‘Life’s Mystery’ artwork was completed in 2004 and in September 2005 a striking one piece bronze sculpture entitled ‘The Eternal Tree of Life and Wisdom’ was installed.

In many respects our botanical gardens themselves are natural art works, in their own right. They blend and vary colour, texture and height, creating an unsurpassed visual amenity.
