Please note:

• An ornamentation policy applies for the A.J.A. Gardner and E.E. Simpson Lawn Children’s Areas.

Alternative Suppliers

Plaques and memorials may be purchased, supplied and affixed in position by Springvale Botanical Cemetery.  Plaques and some memorials are also able to be supplied by external suppliers.  Their contact details may be found in the Yellow Pages or on the internet.  To ensure the correct placement and appropriateness of such externally supplied products, to a specific area within the grounds, prior approval must be obtained.  A placement fee may be applicable.  Springvale Botanical Cemetery cannot be held responsible for the quality of goods or workmanship of items not purchased from or through Springvale Botanical Cemetery.

Reservations – Graves and Crypts

Rights of Interment (graves and crypts) may be reserved for future use and are subject to 25 years tenure from date of payment.  If the Right of Interment has not been exercised by the placement of human or bodily remains or memorialisation as provided for within the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003, the right may revert to Springvale Botanical Cemetery, prior to which Springvale Botanical Cemetery will attempt to contact the holder of the Right of Interment.

Cancellation – Graves and Crypts

Under the Cemeteries Act 2003, if the holder of the Right of Interment cancels an exercised Right of Interment, there will be no refund payable.

Under the Cemeteries Act 2003, if the holder of the Right of Interment cancels an unexercised (reservation) Right of Interment, a partial refund may be available.

Payment Options

At least a 1/6th (17%) deposit is required upon purchasing the location.  The balance may be paid in full within one month or by arrangement with the cemetery over 5 monthly instalments (the instalment option is available to clients with account values over a prescribed threshold).  Fees must be paid in full before a plaque/headstone/monument can be ordered or an interment performed.  Should the scale of fees alter before payment is received, the new scale will apply.  We accept cash, cheque, money order, VISA, MasterCard, and Bpay payments.  Please note: if a location is being purchased for a service that is to occur within seven working days, a personal or company cheque is not acceptable.

Authorisation

Authority is required from the Holder of the Right of Interment before any arrangements can be made regarding a grave, crypt or cremation memorial.
