The first burial was that of seven month old Clarence Reardon on 20th March 1902 and was conducted by Prahran undertaker, A. J. Raybould. Clarence, the baby son of Thomas and Mary Jane Reardon, was buried by Rev. N. G. Veale of Dandenong, with both Trust Chairman and Secretary-Manager of the cemetery in attendance at the gravesite. Clarence’s parents were both interred in the same grave and a small commemorative headstone is still in place today within the Church of England area (adjacent to the Police Memorial).
